Philadelphia 76ers trade rumors: Sixers eyeing upstart guard from the Lakers

Bayless, the projected starting point guard, went to the team's National Basketball Association D-League affiliate, the DE 87ers, on Monday to begin a rehab assignment, so he could be the first of the three to play this season. "We've talked about picking my spots and that was pretty good spot to pick".

Dario Saric added a foul shot with 1.2 seconds left to give the Sixers their seven-point victory. "I'd like to see Saric have the ball in his hands more in an effort to get him out of his shell and wouldn't mind seeing Saric more involved in late-game situations since he can handle the ball and create his own shot". "I think we did a better job today staying composed".

The Sixers were without Joel Embiid, who missed the previous two seasons due to navicular bone surgeries. Philadelphia shot an impressive 54.5 percent from the field on the night and needed just 77 shots to tally 109 points.

The Sixers are 27th in the 30-team league in scoring (95.6 points), 26th in points allowed (108.9) and 28th in turnovers (15.6). He was recalled on Wednesday from the team's D-League affiliate in DE and will presumably be splitting the point guard duties alongside rookie Sergio Rodriguez upon his return.

Marcin Gortat's 14 rebounds secured his tenth straight game to start the season with 10 or more rebounds. The D-League assignment helped Bayless "get back into it", as he put it. "I'm not down, but I want some urgency". He is shooting 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from 16 feet and beyond, compared to 43.3 percent (26-for-60) inside 16 feet.

The Wizards crept within six early in the third quarter, but by the end of the period, Philadelphia's cushion stood at 88-76. Meanwhile, their best player, John Wall, is still trying to get into a groove following offseason surgery on both knees. That's excellent numbers for a 22-year-old player who has yet to find himself in a winning atmosphere and should only be expected to develop further the longer he plays.

When asked about Noel prior to Wednesday's game, Brett Brown did not to speak on medical issues.

With Joel Embiid still not available to play on back-to-backs, the Sixers had a hard choice facing them the next few nights: Do they play Embiid at home against Washington in what shapes up as a fairly winnable game or do they hold him out to play in Thursday night's contest at Minnesota, which features a sexy individual matchup on national television (TNT) against Karl-Anthony Towns?

"I just thought he played a really deliberate game, a quicker game, he was into the game", Brown said.

Bayless said that no timetable has been discussed for his return.
