Stephen Root revealed as THE Man in the High Castle

With the brand new season of The Man in the High Castle right around the corner for viewers in the United Kingdom on Amazon Video, the show has finally revealed exactly who will be playing the show's titular character, and the choice may be a surprising one.

Root, whose credits include the likes of Selma, Trumbo, Boardwalk Empire and Office Space, is set to make his debut in the second season of the show, where he'll play the mysterious figure tied to the Resistance movement who collects the enigmatic films that seem to depict alternate versions of reality.

So, who is playing the mysterious film collector, aka the Man in the High Castle? Check out the first Season 2 trailers below, and watch all episodes on Amazon Prime.

In Season 1, the Man in the High Castle remained a mystery.

"The show resumes with Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) facing the consequences of her decision to betray the Resistance and allow Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank), a suspected Nazi agent, to escape the Pacific States with a film originally bound for the Man in the High Castle".

Returning to the Reich as a hero, Joe is thrust into Berlin - the Nazi capital - and comes face-to-face with the father who abandoned him.

In the clip below, the Man in the High Castle (I really hope the dude has a name) explains to Juliana that each of these films "show a reality like ours, but not ours", and that some people can be the same from one reality to the next but most are different.

Based on Philip K. Dick's novel, The Man in the High Castle also stars DJ Qualls, Joel de la Fuente, Brennan Brown, Bella Heathcote, Callum Keith Rennie, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Tate Donovan and Rufus Sewell. It will return on December 16 for a 10-episode second season only on Amazon.
