He just missed his location on that pitch.

"It's your livelihood, so why not talk about it?" Trade rumors are swirling around the White Sox as they have dropped six of their last seven contests and 15 of 22 after going 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position on Saturday. As Cruz was making his way towards first base, he gave Holland a look and jokingly lunged towards the mound in an attempt to get Holland to flinch.

"He says he feels better when he runs faster", Servais said. It wasn't for lack of effort. Six of those at-bats came July 2-3 when Cruz was out of the lineup.

And so the beats go on for the Sox, who blew a 5-0 lead and watched their American League-worst record drop to 38-52 after a comedy of errors in a 7-6 loss to the Mariners, who completed a three-game sweep at Guaranteed Rate Field.

"It's crunch time for us". The next couple of weeks will be very telling to see the direction this club decides to go.

Turns out, there was no reason to worry, Cruz's bluff appeared to be all in good fun. Avisail Garcia finished with two hits, two stolen bases and two runs, but Sox hitters managed to do little else. Tim Anderson added two hits.

"That's the way baseball is", Sox manager Rick Renteria said. He's not a guy you want to provoke.

Holland threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing six runs - five earned - and striking out three.

Chicago tied it at 6 on Abreu's RBI double in the seventh.

Five relievers followed Moore, and only James Pazos gave up a run. Pelfrey allowed just one earned run on Seager's 11th homer in the second inning, but the big right-hander was pulled with two out in the fifth inning.

He then retrieved a new glove from the dugout.

Holland completely gives it away, though.

Seattle responded in the sixth.

"I honestly don't have an answer for that yet", Hahn said.

None of it seems to affect his hitting.

Diaz said he'd be ready to pitch Monday for a fourth straight day if called upon for the series opener in Houston.

But the Sox didn't score again. Yeah, we got taken here for three games. The nine-game homestand will pit the Mariners against the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and New York Mets. RHP Miguel Gonzalez (4-8) is scheduled to make his first start since June 14 after spending time on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
