Mourinho calls for more goalscorers

Jose Mourinho has improved Manchester United, but Paul Ince believes the value of his transfer deals has been overplayed.

Despite picking up three pieces of silverware, the Red Devils could only muster a sixth-place finish in the league and are aware of the need to improve on that front and meet rising expectations.

The former Sweden international has been recovering from surgery at United's training ground and is expected to be fit again in December.

Following a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, the forward had a fruitful campaign in England last time around, bagging 28 goals and 8 assists, while also helping his side secure the Europa League title, as they beat Ajax 2-0 in the final and earned a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.

"But he's still a very good player to sit in front of the back four, do the simple things, pass the ball - he's good at what he does".

"I also understand that my club by doing 75% of what I initially asked, I think the club did very well so I don't think I am in a position of crying, moaning, and protesting".

"He wants more football at the highest level so we are having conversations and discussing the possibility of him staying for the second part of the season".

He added: "If the remaining 25 per cent doesn't arrive by 31 August, I will not moan".

"My initial analysis coming from January and progressively through the other months I was thinking about four players but I am not a difficult person to work with - in spite of it looking different sometimes".

It may be recalled here that United have already bolstered their squad with the addition of Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof. "I'm happy with the effort the club did and I'm happy they managed to do 75 percent of the work before the Premier League starts". "I am not in a position to say I am not happy with". We got a central defender who can play in many other positions, which is important. And if Ibrahimovic shows his ambitions ones more, he probably can be the best Serie A striker.

"If we cannot strengthen the team in these areas we have players that we can trust".
