Pixel 2 devices will debut on October 4 as confirmed by Google

Three years after it sold of the remnants of Motorola Mobility to Lenovo, some analysts say now might be the time for Google to push further into hardware in a bid to stay competitive with Apple and Samsung. The next Pixel needs to be just as pretty as it is functional, and anything less won't be flagship quality. One of them was, "Why does my phone take so many blurry photos?".

So, what exactly can we expect to see from the new Pixel series? The Pixel and Pixel XL 2 were widely praised for their excellent cameras, and were consistently ranked near the top for quality.

A picture of a billboard published online seems to suggest that Google will be hosting its phone-specific launch event on October 4.

Google will introduce its second generation of Pixel phones, and possibly some other devices, at a press event in San Francisco early next month.

On the Pixel 2 it's called Active Edge and will launch Assistant.
