Phil Jones optimistic of returning for Manchester United at weekend

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Valencia winger Carlos Soler.

Valencia are enjoying something of a revival on the sporting side, second in the league and thriving under new coach Marcelino but the club is still in a financial hole.

But, failure to do so would require them to raise the cash elsewhere and that is why Soler maybe sold.

Manchester United started the season brightly but have since fallen eight points behind league leaders and rivals Manchester City.

He has started all 11 games in the league so far, picking up a goal and four assists in the process. On Friday night he was in Paris to watch his international team-mates beat Wales and on Sunday he attended the MTV European Music Awards in London.

Mourinho has also been informed that his funds will be restricted for the upcoming windows if he doesn't let go of his fringe players, and he may have to take quick action if he really wants to sign the Valencia starlet.

However, the transfer fee could be offset by including midfielder Andreas Pereira in the deal, with the Brazilian currently on loan at the Mestalla and keen to stay there.
