Naby Keita will not join Liverpool in January, says RB Leipzig coach

The report suggests that Leipzig may need to raise funds in order to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules and would be open to an early move if Liverpool pay between £13m- £17.5m.

Their stance indicates that they do not want Keita to go, although there are suggestions the 22-year-old's mind is already on his Premier League move.

He has recently spoken about the effect that Philippe Coutinho leaving will have on Jurgen Klopp's side and has rubbished talk that the Brazilian is irreplaceable and has backed his teammates to succeed without him.

"Nothing has changed", said Ralph Hasenhüttl, the Leipzig coach, before his team's match on Saturday against Schalke 04.

Capable of playing in the centre of the park or as a left-winger, Coutinho with his incisive passing, stunning long-range goals and great dribbling skills is definitely one of the best 'number 10s' in world football at the moment.

The diminutive star has since put pen-to-paper on a 5-year contract with the Reds, who beat off competition from Barcelona to secure his signature.

"It can't be that at all".

Naby Keita to Liverpool in January?

"Neither Naby nor his agent made the request to leave the club in the winter", Mintzlaff told Bild.

"We don't have reason to sell before summer". But Juergen Klopp and Liverpool did not budge.

Thomas Lemar, Riyad Mahrez, Christian Pulisic and even Antoine Griezmann - take that one with a pinch of salt - have been linked with the club in recent days, going to show how far they have come since Klopp arrived on these shores.
