West Ham's Diafra Sakho set for Crystal Palace medical, £10m move

Sakho joined the Hammers from Metz in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £3.5 million, and despite making an impressive start to life in east London, he has struggled for both fitness and form over the past 18 months.

Hodgson has been looking to bring in cover and competiton for Christian Benteke with Palace short of forwards.

West Ham value Sakho at £15m but are willing to accept less up front with add-ons to follow at the end of the season.

Smolov currently plays for Russian Premier League team Krasnodar and has scored 10 league goals in 13 appearances so far this season.

If he manages to sell Sakho for the reported fee of £10 million, he will be in a strong position to bring in some of his key targets.

The 70-year-old told reporters: "I don't know how many players we can bring in".

Chelsea star Eden Hazard makes contract revelation amid Real Madrid transfer rumours
He claims Barkley will be the replacement for Hazard when he moves to the Bernabeu at the end of the season. As of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid .

Moyes has plenty of other forward options including Andy Carroll, Javier Hernandez and Andre Ayew, and the Scot should easily be able to cope without Sakho, especially considering the peripheral role he has played recently.

"We are doing it as best we can and as professionally as we can".

"Our plans have never changed", Hodgson said.

"We have always been thinking that when the January transfer window comes around that we will try and resolve some of these problems".

"It is better to keep quiet on the subject", he concluded.
