The budget smartphone is targeted at selfie lovers and comes with 16-megapixel selfie snapper that supports range of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based features like AI beautification and AI portrait mode to take impressive self-portraits by blurring the background. The front camera also has face unlocking ability which lets you unlock your smartphone via your face. Its display comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9. We need to wait until the May 10 launch to understand what all the Redmi S2 will offer for selfie-focused audiences.

Redmi S2 has a 5.99 inch IPS LCD display with a 1440×720 pixel resolution and corning gorilla glass. One of the key highlights of Redmi S2 is its selfie camera.

It is good to see a triple card slot as, unlike the hybrid slot, users can use dual SIM and a micro SD card at the same time. You also have choice between 32 GB and 64 GB of storage to choose from though there is also the option to add another 256 GB of memory via microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with the latest MIUI 9 on top.

Talking about optics, it sports a dual camera setup at the rear which has 16-megapixel+5-megapixel sensors with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash.

Processor: The Redmi S2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU.
